A screen capture tool that enables annotation of the captured image.

Sniptool provides so much more than the image of your screen's contents you send to the clipboard when you press your 'PrintScreen' key. While it is just as easy to facilitate, screen capture with Sniptool displays the captured image in its interface and provides immediate access to a range of annotation tools. No need to paste the contents of your clipboard into an image editor. You can see and edit your screen captured image right in the program.

No installation required - execute Sniptool on any Windows computer

Download the Sniptool archive and unzip the executable file. Keep it on your system with the handy, easy to spot scissors icon on your desktop, or copy it to a flash drive to use whenever and wherever you need it.

Launched, the free screen capture tool provides you with a very simple user interface with comprehensive icons for easy navigation of the various functions. The first icons on the toolbar at the top of the interface are the rectangular and freehand shape tools. Use one of these to outline the precise dimensions of part of your desktop screen you want to capture and the image will display on the interface.

Edit your screen capture

The icons, additional to the outline tools on the top toolbar, enable quick saving and copying at right, and photo editing tools, including blur and pixelate tools, at the center. The related operational tools are located at the bottom of the interface. These enable you to add text, draw shapes - circles, lines, arrows, and more, highlight and insert bullets. Clicking each tool provides options for color, size, typeface, etc.

Once you are happy with your creation, you can click the toolbar icon to save to JPG or PNG formats. The copy icon will enable you to copy it to the clipboard to paste into another project.

Combine multiple screen captures

The free screen capture tool enables you to add more screenshots to your project. Use the outline tools to select the areas of the screen that you require and they will each be loaded into the window, each on its own layer so that you can move them around and edit them independently.

Customize Sniptool

Already practical and easy to use, you can customize Sniptool for added personal convenience. The settings icon, located at the bottom left of the bottom toolbar, enables you to specify such preferences as using single or multiple captures and the size of the rectangle created when you use blur or pixelate tools.

Free of charge Sniptool is a useful, light, executable utility that is convenient to use to capture a screen image with the great advantage of providing you with annotation tools to use within the program. It is compatible with any recent version of the Windows OS.
