Software Product Description

Boost Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Skype and Thunderbird in a single click with SpeedyFox absolutely for free.

  • Works with Firefox, Chrome, Chromium-based browsers, Opera, Skype and Thunderbird
  • Boost startup speed up to 3 times!
  • Speed-up browsing history
  • Quicker operation with cookies

Over the passage of time web browsers will slow down considerably. They will take a lot of time loading during startup, the overall speed will be effected, and browsing Histories will be too slow. This is very common problem and it occurs largely because of fragmentation of databases.

SpeedyFox is a unique small utility that fixes this problem with a single click! It seems unbelievable but after you optimize your web browsers with this tool, you will get a fresh newly-installed feel because the speed indeed gets considerably faster. You will get up 3 times faster startup speed, browsing history will become faster, and performing operations with cookies will be quicker than before.

The method used in SpeedyFox is 100% safe for your profile (e.g. bookmarks, passwords, etc), it's well documented and tested on many computers.

Fully portable. No need to install.

Pros: A very easy utility to use, and portable, too. After running SpeedyFox I checked the .sqlite files in my profile and found they were indeed much smaller; places.sqlite was down to just over a megabyte, whereas it's usually 10 MB.

Cons: Unfortunately, when I started FF after the optimization I didn't notice any appreciable difference in speed, either in launching the browser or in loading pages. Moreover, on exiting FF I discovered that places.sqlite had reverted to 10 MB after only a single run.

Other Thoughts: Of course, FF was never quick to start up when I first installed it, but then I'm using version 43, which is a lot heavier than older versions. SpeedyFox did not make it any slower, however, and just as the author stated, it didn't mess up my profile, either. I suppose this app's effectiveness could depend on the individual's profile, so maybe other users will have better luck.
