"Would you install a security program made by a famous hacker?"

Other Thoughts:

After trying to find some genuine information about Anvi I can say that what I have seen is suspicious and maybe cause for concern .

It appears the founder of this program is a Chinese hacker named Tan Dailin who spent his earlier life exploiting security holes in Microsoft Office . http://www.theregister.co.uk/Print/2012/11/29/anvisoft_chinese_intrigue/

I would maybe leave this one alone .

Pros:

Brilliant interface, fast scan times, light on resources, realtime protection.

Cons:

calls a lot of false positives, program has gained a bad reputation..

Other Thoughts:

I put this on my old desktop running XP-SP3 to try it for a while as the program has gained a little suspicion from people who disliked 10bit 360.
When i looked into who they are and where they are from i got a little confused!
I emailed them asking if they had any ties to 10 bit, their reply was a no and they even went as far as saying that 10bit 360 was malicious..
However on their forum they clearly state that ASD is being developed by former 10bit employees who split from 10bit to produce ASD as a new product.

Then their location was questioned, at first it was California and now appears to be Canada..

My main gripe is the reviews on other sites seem to be 5 stars all the way, even when it was in Beta.
If a negative review appeared it was quickly attacked by several positive reviews the same day.
That was an old favorite of 10bit..

The interface is very cool but it reminds me of 360 as does the programs requirements and scan times.

Please don't take this as fact, its only my opinion..
It would be good if someone from ASD would post to clear this up as i genuinely hope i am mistaken, with a little more development it could be a good little program and the more free programs the better..

Pros:

free

Cons:

Other Thoughts:

It collide with some other security (Comodo), system become unresponsive, upon scan it freezes comp under some circumstances, it flagged Ati debug file as malware( it is not)..And so on.. Still lot of work needed.
