PicPick Tools Portable 4.2.2

2016-12-09

Pros:

A useful vector/bitmap editor, pretty minimal but good for web tasks like resizing, adding text.

Cons:

User interface is opaque. Kept getting stuck in whatever mode I selected. Don't have time to re-learn gfx software.

Other Thoughts:

If your workflow in other gfx apps is ingrained, PicPic won't appeal.

PicPick Tools Portable 3.0.4

2011-05-08

Pros:

Superb.... Made my life easier... I keep taking screenshots and this prodigy reduces the work of going to paint and editing and then saving it.

Cons:

None.... Great Job... just like the linux screen capture....

Other Thoughts:

Keep it up....

"Very good screenshot+ utility with one flaw"

PicPick Tools Portable 3.0.4

2011-05-06

Pros:

This program has many features and is easy to use. I use it every day to snap stuff and the little photo editor that the screenshots open in is pretty functional as well. I always make a portable version out of it (remove the .ini file in the install directory and run the files from anywhere -- USB stick, what have you).

Cons:

The ONLY gripe I have with this program is that it does not let you set the JPEG shot quality. This is fine if you save your images to PNG format, but if you want to save as JPG, the colors become truly pale (not rich) and the image becomes more grainy. A program like FastStone Image Viewer has very good in-built controls so I use that to convert to jpg after I save with PicPick.

Other Thoughts:

I have written the makers of PicPick several times with suggestions, questions, requests, etc., but I have never received a reply from them. My thinking is, if you're not going to reply to people, you should also not provide an email link on your page...

Please bring back the zip portable version not the exe setup.

"It's green"

Other Thoughts:

PicPick Tools 2.2.1 is the best free graphics editor I've ever encountered. I allows inputting Chinese text, saving true-color graphics as gif file, long filename supported...etc. At above all, it is green - a.k.a. portable.

Other Thoughts:

A musthave tool.
For 90% of users it's probably all they need for dealing with graphics. And for the other 10% it's a really handy adjunct tool. Excellent function mix and well thought out interface and all in a very tidy little package.

"Best since FastStone Capture"

by: Bear Bottoms

2008-10-26

Other Thoughts:

This is the only freeware scrolling capture (along with the other features) since FastStone Capture went payware. I dislike using last freeware versions so was please to see this scrolling capture category refilled within a developing freeware. It does an excellent job with many bonuses.

Other Thoughts:

Pity this proggy is doing et-phone-home everytime it starts up because it's certainly a real find for freeware. Maybe I'll just choke it off at the firewall and keep using it for a while but certainly keep an eye on it. Back with more later.

"Wow? Ouch, maybe..."

Other Thoughts:

Great program, were it not for the fact that it tries to connect to the internet without even asking the user for permission. Why is it? A search for update?

Up to now, looking around its interface, I could not find the option (if it does exist) that disables this.

Ouch!...
