"Too many vulnerable versions and install problems"

by: Nick

Adobe Flash Player (Firefox, Netscape, Opera) 23.0.0.205 / 24.0.0.145 Beta

2016-11-06

Pros:

It's works well when it installs.

Cons:

The latest version doesn't install. I've done a clean install and nothing.

Other Thoughts:

It's already bad enough that you have to constantly update it because of vulnerabilities. Some versions just don't install and it's a headache. Too many problems with Adobe Flash Player. I hope someone comes out with an alternative because it's due.

"Not 64 bit compatible"

by: tiTan

Adobe Flash Player (Firefox, Netscape, Opera) 11.9.900.170

2014-01-01

Pros:

It works with 32 bit systems

Cons:

It doesn't work well with 64 bit systems. The plugin crashes often and especially when using the back button. This is caused by ProtectedMode which needs to be disabled. Go to following directory: C:WindowsSysWOW64MacromedFlash Open mms.cfg and add the following command ProtectedMode=0. This will stop the crashing.

Other Thoughts:

You have to love noob programmers who leave such sloppy work behind. How careless for such a big company.

"Crash, crash and more crashing"

by: mrWrong

Adobe Flash Player (Firefox, Netscape, Opera) 11.9.900.170

2013-12-27

Pros:

This is the latest and must be the greatest

Cons:

Causes crashes on youtube, fb and so on. Even on clean install. GG adobe flash! Someone needs to put an end to the adobe flash updates from hell and constant vulnerabilities.

Other Thoughts:

You have to love it when you they force you to download other applications just to install flash because with 100mbit connections, you really need a downloader for 16 meg file. Reminds me of the days of getright on dialup when you got a call just before your download finished. That was 20 years ago.

Adobe Flash Player (Firefox, Netscape, Opera) 11.9.900.170

2013-12-10

Pros:

Installed with no problems. Had to disable Ghostery.

Cons:

Installed Mcafee Security Scan along with Flash Player. Could not opt out. It can be uninstalled later but the problem was I didn't have the option at the time.

Other Thoughts:

None

"flash 11.4 unstable"

by: kimberlin

Adobe Flash Player (Firefox, Netscape, Opera) 11.4.402.265

2012-09-05

Pros:

I downloaded Mozilla in favour of IE. Great untill I was instructed that I needed a Flash player by Firefox and offered download 11.4. once downloaded the 11.4 F.P stopped working and continued to duplicate itself over and over.

Cons:

Went back to IE and downloaded Flash player 9 and evrything is now fine. I have removed Firefox from my system.

Other Thoughts:

I have submitted the above for advice from Firefox but to date I have not had any response, Customer Support?

"control panel icon"

by: mweizer

Adobe Flash Player (Firefox, Netscape, Opera) 11.1.102.62

2012-02-15

Other Thoughts:

One way to get rid of the Adobe Icon in the control panel and therefore all its operations;

Windows> System32> FlashPlayer CPLAPP

Delete this control panel extension file (404kb)

This will not harm flash player operation

Adobe Flash Player (Firefox, Netscape, Opera) 11.2.202.183 Beta 4

2012-02-13

Pros:

does roll fine

Cons:

now add a windows service for updating-I dislike that very much as it is set to auto-I will stick with flash 10 until it does not work anymore

Other Thoughts:

software developers think they are making it easier for us I disagree.should say something about that added service-if I want a new version I will download a new one!

"Rollls just fine"

by: Baloney

Adobe Flash Player (Firefox, Netscape, Opera) 11.1.102.55

2011-11-12

Pros:

Adobe Flash Player 11.1 series performing nicely here with Windows XP SP3, on Firefox as well as on IE. And the computer is old, though mighty :) S. Jobs (RIP) seems to have wakened up Adobe when he hit their pride ...

Cons:

None at this time.

Other Thoughts:

Thanks to FreewareFiles.com for providing the uninstaller linked to this version (every version has its dedicated uninstaller). Adobe claims that old version of Flash should always be uninstalled before installing new, but it's always a pain to find that dedicated uninstaller (often comes late), especially now that Adobe had modified its pages regarding Flash.

"flash vs netwcape"

by: Lynn1102

Adobe Flash Player (Firefox, Netscape, Opera) 10.3.183.7

2011-09-03

Cons:

I use Netscape mail which I have used for close to 20 years. Any e-mail I receive, such as news or any animation or any kind, I get a message that Shockwave Flash performed an illegal operation. If I don't restart Netscape, it closes Netscape. If I restart, I get the same thing.

Other Thoughts:

If the message would tell what the problem is, I might be able to fix it. No problem with Firefox browser, but I want Netscape for mail.
