Other Thoughts:

I don't like this version as much as version 8.1.3. That version had the weather info add on. This version does not. Or if it does I can't find it to enable it. Too bad Netscape is no longer updated.

Other Thoughts:

Just to confirm that Netscape will be discontinued on 1 Feb. All work on it will end and there will be no further updates. AOL are recommending that people switch to Firefox - and use a Netscape theme if they miss Netscape that much! You are witnessing the demise of one the big browsers of the internet era...

I Really Like this Browser. But Today(Saturday Dec 29 2007)I Heard Through The Grape Vine That they are Going to Discontinue The Updates For This Fine Browser as Of Feb 1 2008 and Are telling Everyone To Switch to Another Browser For Security Reasons.I Sure Hope Not.

Other Thoughts:

I understand that AOL are discontinuing all work on Netscape Navigator in February - thus bringing to an end one of the big browsers of internet history. Disappointing - but Netscape has about one percent of the browser market compared to Firefox which as 17 percent (approx) and which continues to grow.
Its a pity, because I like Navigator..

A vast improvement on the bloated and cumbersome Netscape browsers that went before. This one is fast, stable and an enjoyable experience. Well done!

Very nice, love this, always better than every MS related product!
IE sucks, for you cannot even remove it from your system - at least this is my own choice

"Dissapointing Netscape Version"

Other Thoughts:

I always preferred Netscape over IE. My old reliable 7.X versions were great, especially the imbedded mail system. They did away with that feature and the old 7.x became out of date for other reasons. I went with the new 8.1.2 and added Thunderbird email. The mail system works well, after getting used to it not be part of the browser package. It could still be set as my email icon too. However, the Netscape 8.1.2 is terribly unstable - continually crashing at certain sites and locking up at others. What crap! So, I switched to Firefox browser and kept the Firebird email. They are stable and work well. Too bad that Netscape seems set on killing what used to be a great product (7.x and earlier versions). They are making all the wrong moves!

"Too clunky"

Other Thoughts:

If you want a "Microsoft Alternative", go for Firefox 2.0.1. If you prefer a Microsoft based browser, use AVANT 11.0 build 39. This offering is way too resource intensive to be considered mainstream.
