Subtitle Edit 3.3.12

2014-01-27

Pros:

1 very easy to adjust/sync using wave form! 2 very stable. 3 can do all you ever want with subtitles. 4 even works with Chinese. 5 can open subtitles inside video files. 6 regularly updated. Just the best!!

Cons:

A bit hard for newbies...

Other Thoughts:

A previous reviewer wrote about WMP being bad... he's not incorrect but SE does not use WMP: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subtitle_Edit

Other Thoughts:

I compared this to Subtitle Workshop and I was very disappointed. It's not very user friendly and the fact that it uses WMP machine is bad. I prefer using MPlayer + DirectShow filters in conjunction with Subtitle Workshop. It's much better and more precise. Also the sync tools are much more logic in Subtitle Workshop. Subtitle Edit really is very disappointing.

Other Thoughts:

Supports unicode and has many other features that subtitle workshop does not - like visual syncronization, translation helper, vobsub import.

Other Thoughts:

I prefer Subtitle Workshop. It's more powerful and free as well.
