"Quick and Effective"

Pretty Run 6.5.0.77

2011-05-13

Pros:

Searches through the Windows menus quickly. Shortcut key enabled. Can be made portable.

Cons:

On first run the application window appears to the far right of the screen. The previous reviewer may find the window is off the screen if a low resolution is used. Try running the program, pressing 'Alt + Space' then 'M' then hold the left arrow button.

Other Thoughts:

"Could not get it to work"

Pretty Run 6.3.0.60

2011-04-12

Other Thoughts:

Sounds like an awesome program. Thought I'd install it on my fresh Windows XP installation with all the patches and updates. Does not work. A button comes up in the taskbar, and when I click it, it disappears. That's all I see of it. Disappointing.

"Spectacularly useful"

Pretty Run 6.3.0.59

2011-04-08

Pros:

Better than Windows 7 Search; very low resource use

Cons:

Guilt over not paying for it!

Other Thoughts:

This great app keeps track of the shortcuts and/or files in the folders you choose (including your Start Menu, by default), then instantly shows a list of those whose names include the characters you type. You can then run any of the files/shortcuts in the result list.

If you don't have Windows 7 with its built-in Search feature, you really need this.

If you do have Windows 7, get it anyway---because, unlike Windows 7 Search, it shows ALL files/shortcuts containing the text you type, not just the ones that BEGIN with that text. (What was Microsoft thinking?)
