PeaZip Portable 4.9.1

2013-04-18

Other Thoughts:

@Henry

We tested Peazip Portable with a 7-zip archive and it worked correctly.

Peazip Interface displaying all files and folders in archive:
http://www.freewarefiles.com/screenshot/peazip_port_test.jpg

We then clicked "Extract all to...", selected a directory and extracted the .7z archive to a test folder. All files and folders extracted successfully.

PeaZip Portable 4.9.1

Cons:

I tested a 7z file, which contains subfolders with files. Peazip fails to display the subfolders, but put all files in them in one large spreadsheet.

PeaZip Portable 4.8.1

2013-01-31

Pros:

portable, powerful, can unzip iso file.

Cons:

Unicode filenames are shown with ?? in place of some non-English characters. However, this does not affect the result of unzip.

"The Zip of a Pea"

by: The Little Downloade

2009-11-14

Other Thoughts:

It's getting steadily better,
and I wonder whether...

...this will be
...the zip of a pea.

No problem ever,
it works very clever.
With diacritical letter.

Only one flaw to pound
is the place where it's bound
which is not Sourceforge ground

So please check the link
Then it's not on the blink :-)

Other Thoughts:

Complete, rich of functionalities but easy to learn.

@ Dr. Nemo, here in Denmark no problems with diacritical characters.
About extractions of htm/html, you should consider that you need to extract also linked resources or you will not see the page correctly, regardless the software you use to access the data!

PS. Sorry, from the date of the post your comment should be about an older version, only the last one support Unicode. So you may be totally right about the version that was available at that time.

...to throw away WinRAR and IZArc.
Lack French localization (I hope it will have soon) but has no problem in working with extended and accented characters.

"It goes for good road but it has a serious problem..."

Other Thoughts:

It goes for good road. The GUI has become more intuitive and it is of beautiful design. Their opening of files and compression rates are magnificent - be attentive: LPAQ and PAQ, the best, need of high-speed processors and with a lot of memory RAM -, but PeaZip has the serious problem that shows difficulties when opening compressed htm/html and that it is not able even to open named files by means of itself, in foreign languages that use diacritical.
