Forget AVG Avast & Avira MSE is the best no slowdown uses least amount of ram than any other AV program ,beat all 3 avcomparatives November 2009 test results MSE scored 56% Avast 53% AVG 49% Avira 74% highest but lost points due to the large number of clean files it detected as trojans viruses also known as false positives.

"Slow down"
This program really slowed my machine. It is HP G70 running Windows 7 with 3GB ram. It particularly slowed the refresh rate of all program icons when accessing from the start button. I have now returned to Avast, have been using it for two years with great results and more importantly no slowdown.

"Superb"
I've tried Norton, AVG (free) and Avast(free). Norton in my opinion is the worst and my favourite was Avast(free) but that was let down by a very poor UI. This microsoft product for me is the best there is, great performance, low memory usage and very user friendly UI, and who better to secure Microsoft than Microsoft. Well done Microsoft
