"Opaque Bloatware" by: All Day Interneter Vuze 4.5.1.0b
Pros: I found none. Cons: I have been online since 97.
I have used windows since W95.
I have used bitcomet for 4 months.
I have kearned alot in their pages about
File-share & can now breeze thru port forwarding like a pro.
I had an upgrade problem that borked my Bitcomet interface.
I tried Vuze...I couldnot even FIND the file-share portion among all the other BS.
I now use bit-spirit.
Bitcomet used 1Gig less memory than this one.
Other Thoughts: Some have said that they want all the other features....
I do not. Most can be had elsewhere.
Not that I use them at all.
Vuze is certainly not for everyone. Was this review helpful? 93 out of 137 users found this review helpful.

"vuze saves me" by: Sudip Kumar Das
Other Thoughts: i have a pretty slow connection and have installed both utorrent and vuze. whereas utorrent falters to even start properly a single download i'm having a gala time with vuze. the connection is slow and torrent ports are blocked by the isp, but still vuze manages to download large files, although the time taken is exorbitant.
this is definitely a great software. Was this review helpful? 75 out of 145 users found this review helpful.

"good work but..." by: trefaynie
Other Thoughts: So many reviews, and so many bad comments about this program.
Well, I use the utorrent sometimes, but vuze is sometimes better for me. It can work in a better speed and stability like utorrent.
I am not saying that this is the best and utorrent is not, only saying that vuze could be a good alternative (faster in my region than utorrent), but utorrent has a few more functions which are more useable and stable.
I may give a 4 star for this program...Was this review helpful? 84 out of 149 users found this review helpful.

"pointless debate" by: stuart
Other Thoughts: to compare azureus with u torrent is totally stupid. both are for different people with different needs. if you want a lightweight program with no frills and dosent require a saturn 5 rocket to power it, then u torrent is the one. if you want a one stop shop thats convenient and dosent require trawling round sites then this is your ticket. it burns more power because of this and will have higher security risks. to x. your a lemon and you dont have a scoobie at what your on about. of course people are nervous when their av flashes up warnings! just because some people are not tech minded dosent mean they are idiots. to slag off a flawless program like u torrent in comparison to this, is not the words of someone who knows much about their pc or fsp. getta grip and think about it..Was this review helpful? 80 out of 157 users found this review helpful.

"Still among the best" by: x
Other Thoughts: The interface can be easily changed to the old Azureus GUI. They actually prompt you to do exactly that upon first install. Was this review helpful? 69 out of 136 users found this review helpful.

"Could use some work" by: Junk Buster
Other Thoughts: Very awful interface.
However, the encrypted transport function helps keep you from getting disconnected by ISP's that use packet shaping technology to disrupt downloads with peer to peer programs.
You may still get disconnected, but seems you stay online a lot longer before that happens if you set it to encrypted.
Could use a simpler interface, in addition to the ability to search for music, video, games like in ares.
By the way, changing the start page in ares to about:blank works just like in IE or Firefox. No need to load startvg page, or even google anymore.
Serve up a blank page & stop wasting bandwidth. Was this review helpful? 70 out of 136 users found this review helpful.

"bloated!!!" by: Costa Cordalis
Other Thoughts: Bloatware! This is really disappointing! I wanted to upgrade from version 2.5, but this version is really totally bloated and slows down my machine drastically. Azureus became unaccetable. I uninstalled and switched to uTorrent - which is perfect (small, fast, reliable). Was this review helpful? 68 out of 150 users found this review helpful.

"Oh get a damned life!" by: x
Other Thoughts: First of all, Norton sucks--this is well known. I banned ALL Symantec crap on ALL my systems years ago. Azureus/Vuze has NO malware. Why people can't get their brains around this is a mystery to me; if your anti-virus crapware says there's a virus, or a trojan, or anything else... Why do you automatically believe it? No AV solution is anywhere NEAR 100% reliable.
And I'm sick of the uTorrent idiot fans who can't help vomit their nonsense about Azureus. "Oh change my diaper, Azureus uses more than 10MB of memory! Oh geez how do I uuuuze it?" Get a grip, get a life. Was this review helpful? 80 out of 171 users found this review helpful.
