Using Disk Drill
One of the things we noticed was different about the installation of Disk Drill was the presence of a dedicated button for displaying all the available disk drives where we could install the software, including their respective sizes, available free spaces and required space. The installation process was smooth and fast.
When we launched the program, it displayed all available drives, including partitions. We also noticed here that, unlike other data recovery apps we had used, it displayed the actual names of the disks, not just the corresponding drive letters. We could also display hidden items like system-reserved spaces.
We selected the drive we wanted to scan and chose the type of scan we wanted. The program can perform either quick or deep scan, which scans an entire drive, bit by bit, and then reassembles pieces of lost data.
During the scanning process, we could cancel or pause the process at any time. We could also save the session either during or after the scanning process.
Disk Drill listed the results in folders and sub-folders, including the number of files contained in each folder and sub-folder.
We could filter the results depending on file types, sizes or dates. If we knew the name of the file we wanted, we could simply search for it by its name, saving us the hassle of searching through a long list of results.
The program included a preview button that displayed a preview pane, but the only files we could preview were JPG images.
Once you have selected the files you want to recover, you can select the folder where you want to save them. If you select a folder on the same disk you were scanning, the program displays a warning message informing you that you risk overwriting other recoverable data.
In addition to recovering data from disks, you can use Disk Drill to protect them if the protection service is running. You can select the folders you want to protect and files you want to exclude from protection. You can also back up a desired drive into DMG image.
Disk Drill is a simple but powerful tool for recovering data from all types of storage media. You can even use it to repair some media storage problems like corrupt memory card. However, it does not show whether the recovered data is usable or not.

Pros: I used this software for 3 types files recover, images, videos and office documents. It is good for both scanning and recovery. Some of my files were corrupted. They were not opening and others got shortcut. I scanned and fixed them. All files back into the previous right version. If you are new to this software then no problem. At first you will get some tutorial how to recover or scan or keep backup storage. Another good point of this software is it can recover partly missed or corrupted data easily. Here you will get chance to find your data by both searching by name and delete date range. I also liked it's backup function. I feel safe through using it.
Cons: Video recovery rate from USB drive is slower as compare to other recovery rate.
Other Thoughts: This is okay. If it improves it recovery rate from USB drive and microSD, it will better.
