Publisher's Description

The Lightning Project is a redesign of the Calendar component. Lightning´s goal is to tightly integrate calendar functionality (tasks, scheduling, etc.) into Mozilla Thunderbird.

Lightning is an embedding of the Mozilla calendar code specifically designed to run inside Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5 and 1.5.0.*. This release is a preliminary, non-production release designed to showcase the work that´s been done and allow contributors to help us test it out. True email / calendar integration is planned, but that is not part of this release.

Features:

  • Help you keep track of your personal schedule
  • Subscribe to calendars on the Internet (via HTTP/WebDAV)
Requirements: Mozilla Thunderbird

Download the Stable version: Mozilla Lightning Project 0.9

FreewareFiles tested Mozilla Lightning Project 1.2.1 on 2012-02-06 using leading antivirus scanners and found it 100% Clean. It does not contain any form of malware, spyware, viruses, trojans, etc. We will re-test each updated version and remove the award as well as the program if found infected.

"Meh."

Pros:  Easy to use

Cons:  The Task List doesn't show up on the calendar, which is something I need. I had to change all my tasks into events so that I could literally see what I had to do for the day, but then I couldn't update the status of it once it was complete. Also, the reminders only work when you have the software open (which makes sense, don't get me wrong)and I can never remember to do that. So now I have to have a sticky note to remind me to open the program so it can remind me to do things.

Other Thoughts:  This is definitely better then nothing and it's surly one of the best free calendar software products I've found. If I can't find anything better (that's free) than I can still live with this.
