You will need to protect PDF files if you have to share them with others but do not want the users to alter or copy the contents. There are many ways of restricting PDF documents but they usually have their drawbacks. PDF Anti-Copy offers protection by reprocessing all text and graphics on documents without changing their original formats. Users can neither copy nor convert protected content even when they use unlocking utilities.

Features and Functions

PDF Anti-Copy features a clean graphical user interface with large icons on the tool bar just below the menu bar. The first icon on the left part of the window allows you to select the PDF document that you want to protect. Alternatively, you can open the document via the "File" menu.

The middle part of the window is divided into left and right panels. The left part of the left panel displays page numbers while check boxes on the right part enable you to select the specific pages that you want to protect. If the file has many pages and you would like to protect all of them, then you can select all pages simultaneously from the "Edit" menu. You can also uncheck all check boxes.

The right panel displays the content of the opened document. Buttons on the tool bar allow you to zoom either in or out of the displayed content. This feature can come in handy when you are handling a document with fine print.

You can then browse and select your preferred destination if you do not want to save the protected file in the default output folder. The only thing that remains is for you to click the "Start" button on the lower right corner of the application window.

A progress bar will show you the percentage completed. If you are working on one or a few pages that are mainly composed of text, however, then the progress may be too fast to monitor. The program then automatically opens the destination folder. It appends "_AntiCopy" to the original file name.

You will find that you can not select the content of protected PDF files. When you try to convert the files to such editable formats as word or text, you will end up with blank files.

Conclusion

PDF Anti-Copy is a special program that helps users to easily protect PDF files from being copied or converted to other formats. The program is compatible with all Windows operating systems from Windows XP service pack 3.
