XSubst is a freeware tool for managing subst drives and net drives with a lot of comfort. It can create temporary or permanent subst drives, can create drive icons (shortcuts) to the desktop manually or automatically. With the optional shell context extension (sce) it can integrate the basic functions connect and disconnect into file explorer or professional file managers like total commander.
Another comfortable function is to change the path of a subst or net drive without manual disconnect the drive, XSubst will do this in one step. XSubst shows all available drives (a-z) in a drive list with their corresponding paths and drive types. There are more comfort functions but i think for a first description this is enough.
What´s New in version 2.3.20:

The problem was that u.U. Although the rights of current users would have in the

would lack the rights and you should not hesitate notifying parties as Admin. the
Problem has been known to me (not only mar. Domain Admin), I was
but so far just too lazy to investigate the closer because the 'relatively' rare
occurs. ;-) The reason was that I had to query on the far right one
I used Windows API. If these reports back to the current user is not
full-fledged admin, then I'm sure, of course, not influence. therefore, the
API query tests Xsubs now removed and instead simply whether the
current user is allowed or not. (Note: Andreas Seuss)

Other Thoughts: it is not convenient when all drives have the same name, a little addaptation can do much good!
