If you don't need all hell of codes, then stick to the standard package. I did so for a long time. K-Lite was always great.
But recently I switched to "XP Codec Pack" (www.xpcodecpack.com) which is also a great codec package. And I think it's slightly better. It's your choice.

K-Lite codecs as well as their "Quicktime" and "Real" alternatives are, IMO, one of those references of quality I really appreciate. BTW, thanks to FreewareFiles.com for proposing all three "Mega", "Full" and "Standard" packages of "K-Lite Codec", when too many sites propose only one of the three.
