"Snowbird 7" by: deebee
Other Thoughts: I normally use search Everything, which is excellent, but it won't search flash drives, only seems to search NTFS volumes. Snowbird to the rescue! Searches my FAT 32 formatted flash drives no problem & very fast too. An excellent search tool IMO. Five stars. Was this review helpful? 19 out of 45 users found this review helpful.

"use no other?" by: Jeshurun
Other Thoughts: In the last version, I ended up replacing my previous favorite searcher. If these improvements are as flawless as the previous, I may never have to look back. Lightening fast, and has never locked my system, or had to close. An awesome piece of freeware. Was this review helpful? 26 out of 53 users found this review helpful.

"Oops" by: JimInSacramento
Other Thoughts: Despite claims to now being able to search for text in word documents, I ran a test and found it not to be true in all cases. Otherwise program seems fine. Was this review helpful? 25 out of 50 users found this review helpful.

"Better!" by: bobad
Other Thoughts: Although none of the changes in v2 were major, they were all improvements. One gets a feeling the author is shooting for "excellent", and I wouldn't bet against him. :) D/L it and try it. It's one of those little utilities that can quickly grow on you.Was this review helpful? 31 out of 62 users found this review helpful.

"Wow!" by: Allan
Other Thoughts: I saw the review of this on Lockergnome and thought I'd give it a try.
I am *amazed* at the speed and accuracy of this program. I'm even more amazed that the author managed to pack all of this into a 17KB download!
Download it now, folks - you won't regret it. Was this review helpful? 27 out of 54 users found this review helpful.

"Fast... Weird" by: bobad
Other Thoughts: I like this little no-install "1-File Wonder". It's blazing fast and bloat free. The HTML search results are a mixed blessing. Having to open the results file partly negates the wonderful speed. I wish it were a shell extension (right-click a drive or folder and select "Search w/ Snowbird". I also wish you could click a search result and select "Go to Folder". Oh well, it's still cool and appreciated. It's a good way to save a list of your MP3 file names. :)Was this review helpful? 28 out of 52 users found this review helpful.

"Fast" by: Arvind
Other Thoughts: A lot faster than Windows search.
Used my benchmark for testing search programs. Searched for the word "left" in C: (both file name and file content)
Snowbird clocked 00.01'45" and turned up 743 results.
Windows Search : Took ages, at the end of 8 mins it displayed 72 results. I then lost patience and quit.
Pros : Fast.
Categorizes
Opens results in html page (easy to read)
Shows thumbnails of pics
Cons : Results page shows up automatically on existing browser window. | VERY IRRITATING.
No column headers for time and date.... I mean, what the heck are those times and dates?
Often finds "1 results" :D
