"Not ready yet!"

Great program in XP but crashes in Windows 7 64bit. Sparrows can't fly with the eagles. Wait until its fixed.

"Great Stuff"

To be honest i find this program awesome, 4 panes, great speed and a very handy window template section for quick panes (2 left-right up-down etc)
And it's freeware.

Great stuff

"Does Not Install"

When you try to install on Windows 7, it tells you that "Disk is missing and the string to your harddrive. Previous versions worked.

"No better than all the rest"

Fails like all other programs of this type to preview documents - focus is on pictures - useless for previewing documents such as word, excel, ppt, etc.

"excellent!"

I have removed the other file managers and this is it for me! And it's also portable! ;)

"Q-Dir 3.77"

It's a nice free file manager & it's also portable which is a big plus, but my favorite (free) file manager is definitely xplorer2 lite - weird it's not available in Freeware Files, maybe because it's a "light" version of a commercial product? If so then why the (restricted) free versions of products like AVG, Ad Aware and many others are here?

"Awesome"

Just what I was looking for. Something simple to transfer things to portable drives without multiple windows. I wanted something simple and not overblown with useless interface. This does the trick and it does it nicely!

"Very Good"

Very good software. Although freeCommander is more powerful, I prefer Q-Dir due to its easier handling and style. The only thing I miss is an integrated MD5 sum creator/checker and the ability to look into zip files. But as I don't need that very often, I can do without as well.

"Really Works!"

Tried about 6 other file managers out there was having a problem making win2k work faster on XP/Vista network. This baby is serious! it is faster than fast :) Highly recommend it for older machines although I'm sure it'll work good on the newer platforms also. Thank you!!

Q-Dir is the best explorer alternative and easy to use.

Many Thanks!

"Still no Joy"

I keep saying it: Aesthetics.

I can give you two freewares that can do about the same thing Q-Dir does when used together, while using ye ole explorer, but they keep tabbed windows, instantaneous image previews on mouse-over, tabbed windows, folder tree-views, text files previews on mouse-over, and many other things Q-Dir lacks; and everything while mantaining window frame modifications, visual style configuratuons, shell style of your preference, and comprehensive toolbars in synch with the aforementioned visual styles.

Q-Dir works great, but today's software standards are set for working and LOOKING great. It is not one or the other.

And as I mentioned, these two programs are freeware, same as Q-Dir. Now, I won't go and make advertising, out of respect for Q-Dir's author/s, but they are both created and sustained by the very same author/company, and may be found right here in Freeware Files. You want a hint? They are "CUTIE", get it? QT?

Time for Q-Dir to get into the new century or be left out of today's lead freewares because of simple looks. Just remember older fully-functional versions of windows...

"Flexible"

I have tried a number of file managers and while many age quite good they often lack a couple of features that I am looking for. This program is quite flexible and easy to configure for my personal preferences. I highly recommend this app as a great free alternative to some of the $$ file managers.
