What do you do when you want to watch your images in a slideshow? CSlide gives you a simple way of generating and playing slideshows from the images in a folder. The lightweight application features a simple graphical user interface that makes it easy to use.

Using CSlide

CSlide is a portable application that is downloaded in a ZIP archive. You just download and extract the software to your desired destination, even if it is an external storage device. This means that you can use the same software on multiple computers.

The application displayed an almost bare user interface with all control buttons on the upper side. We added pictures from a selected folder by dragging and dropping them onto the user interface.

The 'Previous' and 'Next' buttons allowed us to scroll through the images, and the 'Shuffle' button let the software display pictures at random.

We could specify how we wanted the images to appear in relation to the background, with the options we could choose from being Center, Tile, Stretch, Fit and Fill. We could also specify what to show on the interface and how to display the application on our desktop.

When making a slideshow, we could set the seconds after which we wanted the software to change pictures, grayscale mode and shuffle on or off. When we turned off shuffle mode, we could let pictures appear according to their various details. However, we did not have editing options other than making the images auto-rotate or turn them to grayscale.

Although CSlide helped us to create attractive slideshows, it did not give us an option to export the slideshows.

Conclusion

CSlide makes it easy to create and play slideshows using the pictures in a folder. The portable software can be used on several computers, with the requirement that each computer must have Microsoft .NET Framework installed. Although CSlide reads subdirectories, please note that all the pictures you add must be in the same top level directory.
