KeyboardStateView is a useful little portable diagnostic tool for determining what's working properly and what's not. A frozen keyboard or mouse is annoying, especially when there's work to be done.

KeyboardStateView enables you to test all the keys on your keyboard and the buttons of your mouse to assess the situation and see if you are dealing with a hardware or software issue. You can quickly find out which by launching the program and pressing keys or clicking buttons.

Find out what the problem is immediately

As you press a key, its Name, the Decimal and Hexadecimal key codes and it's Pressed and Toggled Status are displayed along with the Timestamp for the last time it was used. If you want to see the status of all the keys - in the event that you need to try out a new keyboard, for instance - you'll find that showing the information as the keys are pressed is a default that can be turned off under the 'Options' menu.

Right-clicking a selected row brings up the pop-up File menu. You can copy or export your highlighted key status to HTML format, resize columns or view properties from the File menu.

The current state of everything on your keyboard and mouse is quickly facilitated by KeyboardStateView, making you aware of any problems with your peripherals. Windows XP and higher are all supported.
