Crystal Security 3.7.0.28

2018-12-04

Pros:

- free - does not put a large load on the system or resources - configurable - has a silent mode

Cons:

- large false positive rate, manages to incorrectly classify perfectly legitimate programs that no other antivirus/antimalware program found suspicious - its "dynamic engine" (what can this thing be?) causes all these mistakes (fortunately it can be switched off) - restore from the quarantine fails, the program freezes, the quarantined files are lost

Other Thoughts:

My confidence in this program fell really low, after these false positives, and the fact that I had to re-install those program I could not restore from the quarantine. I wonder if this can protect me from something really malicious, or it only causes me headaches...

Crystal Security 3.5.0.172

2016-05-02

Pros:

Very useful program. But...

Cons:

In this version it is not compatible with Windows XP. Read the author's declaration on the official site of the program.

Other Thoughts:

What a pity!

Pros:

Fast through scanning. Fairly easy to run. Does not interfere with my Antivirus.

Cons:

No Help File. No mention of which Anti- malware engines are used to scan our computers.

Other Thoughts:

Tried to contact the developer through the website, but my message does not go through?? Will try direct email.

Pros:

It has small size of file.

Cons:

My 360 antivirus says the file was infected, so i did not install the Crystal Security.

Other Thoughts:

Maybe its just File structure of antivirus that makes the allert, but i dont know.
