Software Product Description
ThmbIndex can be used to create a simple gallery for a large collection of image files. Browser constraints limit the image to about 3 megapixels but this still allows the creation of an image index for several hundred files.
ThmbIndex can be used equally to provide an index for files in a folder, including sub-folders or a collection of files from anywhere on your system, including removeable media. It is also possible to copy and resize if necessary, files from removeable media to your system and create an index at the same time.
Files can be added by either selecting a folder or by setting ThmbIndex to watch the clipboard for copied file names. Files meeting your extension choice are added to the list for inclusion in the index.
The index image can carry a header in a selected font if you need to name or explain the selection.
You can determine various aspects of the JPEG image index, including its width, the number of columns taken by the thumbnails, size of spaces and borders and background color or image. You can also specify the size of window created when you click on a thumbnail.
When you click the GO button, an index image will be created and shown on the right. The image can be viewed in a graphic application if necessary.
Once satisfied with the image, it can be saved and if selected, a MAP file created.
