"Doesn't work"
Version 3.0.2.40 doesnt install on my windows 2000 Professional SP 4 UP 1. Install process is reporting that Windows NT or more is required for this application wile freewarefiles is indicating as good also windows 2k.

To the previous reviewer, there is a free program called Defraggler that can defrag a drive either in fast mode, or optimized mode.
Seems really good & simple! It is free also.

"Misleading "Publisher's Desciption""
Auslogics state in their description of this program that it "is designed for fast optimization of today´s modern hard disks". It's about time Auslogics came clean on this issue. They know perfectly well that this program does NOTHING to OPTIMIZE the hard disk,it's just a basic defragmenter & not a very good one at that. Come on Auslogics,tell all your fans the difference between defragmenting a hard disk and optimizing it. Failing that,stop using the term "optimization" in your description of this program. It's just a basic defragmenter,faster than Windows own built in defragmenter because it doesn't even do as good a job as that! Also,real freeware doesn't have a nag screen telling you should buy their "Boostspeed" program. They also sell a Registry defrag program,that's a joke,what's wrong with NTREGOPT? Totally free & no nags.

"Good for defragmenting..."
If all you want to do is "Defragment" your HDD,then this will do the job,that's why it's reasonably fast,because it ONLY defragments the HDD,so in that respect it's a good program. What some people may not understand is that other programs such as O&O Defrag,Diskeeper,My Defrag,JK Defrag etc.,also optimise the HDD after defragmenting it,which takes longer for the first run,which is why these programs APPEAR to be slower. In fact,JK Defrag & My Defrag (same program now),can actually defrag a HDD as fast as Auslogics if that's all you need. So if your happy with just a quick defrag then Auslogics is fine,but if you really want your HDD to be as fast as possible,then you must also optimise it,which takes a little time. After a first defrag & optimisation then subsequent optimisations are really quick. I hope this goes some way to explaining the differences between Auslogics Defrag & the other programs I mentioned.

Can't compare this with O&O and other expensive stuff. It's free, for heaven's sake. And it does a reasonable job. Yes, JKdefrag is better and also free, but it also takes a MUCH longer time.

I have been using this Defrag program since they came out back then. Its faster than the windows version! The 2.0+ is even better because you can now defrag muliple drives! Great job AUSLOGICS!! THANK YOU!!!

This version is now correct and program is reporting v: 1.6.24.355. I have tested it on my windows 2000 So4 Up1, is very fast and with no bugs.

This download is workin but the reported version number by Freewarefiles isn't correct, this isn't v. 1.5.23.435 but v. 1.5.23.350 this is the reason why now works !

I have alredy downloaded and tested this new version but it doesn't work on my Windows 2K SP4 Update 1. I Suggest freefiles.com instead representing bad software twice or more to sent a notice to the supplier in order to fix any existing bug, this is the best way to share valid freeware applications.
