Software Product Description

Some computers have their hard disk drive LEDs in such positions that it is difficult to see them when using the machines. Some computers do not even have the physical LEDs for monitoring hard disk activity. Thankfully, you can use Scroll Lock HDD LED to use the scroll lock LED to perform this function.

In addition to making the scroll lock LED function as a physical hard disk LED, the application's icon on the system tray also behaves as an electronic LED. You may find it convenient to set the application icon to be always displayed on the system tray so you can readily monitor hard disk activity without interrupting what you are doing on the computer.

You can right-click on the application icon on the system tray to access its context menu, which allows you to perform several functions. For example, you can:

  • Set the application to start with windows
  • Recreate systray icon after 30 seconds
  • Force re-scan of the drives
  • Check for updates
  • Donate and register

You can also change the LED refresh rate from 10 milliseconds to 750 milliseconds from the context menu, with 10 ms being really fast and 750 ms being really slow. The default setting is 50 ms, which is labeled as fast. The normal rate is 100 ms.

The intuitive application will monitor the activities of all physical hard disks connected to your computer, including SATA, IDE and USB drives.

Requires: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.

Pros: works like it should. free, a bonus

Cons: nags on a timer when starts up for a donation. Nothing wrong with asking for a donation, but not to nag every time.

Other Thoughts: None
